ABOUT THE SPEAKER
Native Louisianian, Ms. Louise F. Pearce earned her B. S. degree in Business Economics from Louisiana Tech University, her B. S. in Geosciences at University of Louisiana at Monroe, and her B.C.L. and J. D. degrees from the Paul M. Hebert Law Center at Louisiana State University. After graduating law school in 2004, she started practicing law at Hargrove, Smelley & Strickland in Shreveport, where she rendered title opinions and advised clients on various oil, gas and other matters. She was a shareholder for several years before opening her own oil and gas law office in April of this year.
In 1979, Louise got her start in the energy industry by working for Lee Kinnebrew/Kinnebrew Energy Group, Ltd. (KEG), an oil and gas lease brokerage and exploration firm here in Shreveport, Louisiana, to which she is grateful for her foundation and strong work ethic. She then progressed to Vice President and Trust Officer, Mineral Property Manager and the Manager of Trust Natural Resources and Real Estate for the Southwest Region of AmSouth Bank (now Regions Bank) and worked as an independent oil and gas consultant. Ms. Pearce attained her CPL and ESA designations from the American Association of Professional Landmen while working for KEG and AmSouth, respectively.
For almost 40 years now, Louise has been an active member, one of our past directors and is now our most trusted advisor of the Ark-La-Tex Association of Professional Landmen. She is also a current active member and past director of the AAPL and thinks highly of both groups for the educational, professional and personal relationships she’s made over the years. Louise has demonstrated her extreme talent and extensive knowledge of the oil and gas industry to the various other oil and gas organizations and bar associations of which she is a member. Ms. Pearce enjoys reading, spending time with her family and friends, and being involved with her church – Ellerbe Road United Methodist Church. The ALTAPL is honored and excited to welcome Ms. Pearce as our November monthly meeting speaker, and I sincerely hope you all get the privilege of hearing her speak.
