Oliver Jenkins represents District C on the Shreveport City Council where he has been a steadfast conservative voice for less spending and more accountability of taxpayer dollars. He was elected in October, 2010 and served as the Chairman his first year.

Outside of his public service, Oliver is the former President & Chief Operating Officer of Phillips Energy Partners, a mineral and royalty acquisition company based in Shreveport. He also serves on the regional Board of the American Red Cross and the First Tee of Northwest Louisiana, and is a member of St Mark’s Cathedral.

Oliver retired from the United States Marine Corps in February 2009 as a Lieutenant Colonel. His military career included operational tours in Europe, Asia and the Middle-east flying EA-6B Prowlers and FA-18 Hornets. His last assignment was as the Deputy Branch Chief for Special Operations in Joint Command Lisbon where he was directly involved in the NATO SOF Transformation Initiative (NSTI). Oliver has flown combat tours during Operations Iraqi Freedom, Enduring Freedom, Noble Eagle, Southern Watch, Deny Flight, Decisive Edge and Joint Endeavor. After retiring, Oliver was the project manager for a NATO Special Operations education and support program, which focused on preparing NATO Special Forces for Alliance operations abroad, primarily in Afghanistan. He also served as an Adjunct Professor for the US Joint Special Operations University.

LtCol Jenkins personal decorations include the Meritorious Service Medal, Air Medal (single mission and 5 strike/flight awards), Navy and Marine Corps Commendation Medal w/ gold star, Navy and Marine Corps Achievement Medal w/ 3 gold stars and Combat V.

Oliver holds a Masters degree in International Relations from the University of Paris, a Bachelor of Arts from Dartmouth College and is a graduate of a national War College.

Oliver Jenkins has been married to the former Anne Selber for 18 years. They have two children: Arthur (10) and Frances (6). Five generations of Oliver’s family and six of Anne’s have called Northwest Louisiana home.
