Kathy French
Kathy French is the Director of Community Relations for the Caddo-Bossier Parishes Port Commission. The Port of Caddo Bossier is a 2,300-acre Port Industrial Complex, which serves as the region’s multimodal commerce center.
Prior to joining The Caddo Bossier Parishes Port Commission, Kathy has had a unique employment background which serves her well in her present position. Kathy held the positions of Engineering Supervisor at General Motors, Production Supervisor and Industrial Engineer at UPS, Market Research Project Manager for U.L. Coleman Companies, and Community Relations Director at Community Renewal International.
Kathy received her Bachelor of Science degree in Industrial Engineering and her Masters in Industrial/Organizational Psychology from Louisiana Tech University. She is the proud daughter of a retired Army Colonel, who is also a Vietnam veteran. She currently serves on several local boards and committees. Presently she is a board member of the Shreveport Opera, the David Raines Community Health Center, Military Affairs Council, Northwest Louisiana Military Support Foundation, Bossier Chamber of Commerce, Shreveport-Bossier Business Alliance for Higher Education, and Rotary Club of Shreveport. She also serves on the Bossier Chamber-Military Relations Committee and the Independence Bowl Hospitality Committee.
She’s a past chairman of the Greater Shreveport Chamber of Commerce’s Leadership Shreveport program, a past recipient of the “The Times Best Dressed Award” for community service, the VIVA (Very Important Volunteer Award) from the Greater Shreveport Chamber of Commerce in 2013, and the Bossier Chamber of Commerce’s Military Relations Supporter of the Year for 2015.
